Apple has taken the wraps off of its next-generation operating system updates at its Worldwide Developers Conference today, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate. And while the long-awaited Siri AI update is the headliner, Apple also emphasized its efforts to optimize its software, improving its performance and reliability.

Though WWDC didn't spotlight CarPlay this week, iOS 27 delivers a solid update: EV range integration, video apps and a new Audio MiniPlayer.
The way the system renders app icons is also updated. The new pipeline adds more visual separation between each layer, resulting in sharper defined edges and luscious refractions. This addresses user feedback during the iOS 26 cycle that the new icons looked a bit ‘blurry’ at smaller sizes.
