Can you spot the mussel? 🥸 The Plain Pocketbook mussel tricks fish by disguising part of its shell as a lure that looks like a small fish or other prey. When a fish tries to bite the lure, the mussel releases tiny baby mussels that attach harmlessly to the fish’s gills or fins. They stay there until they grow big enough and then drop off.
