Flash flooding from torrential rain killed at least three people Tuesday afternoon and prompted dozens of rescues in the Ruidoso area of southern New Mexico, officials said — the same area devastated by two wildfires last year. A house was seen being carried downstream by the fast-moving water. Search and rescue operations are still underway. The victims of the devastating Texas flooding include 8 and 9-year-old girls from Camp Mystic, just feet from the Guadalupe River. A camp counselor from the Houston area also died in the flooding, which killed more than 80 people over the weekend.
